THE QUOTE OF THE DAY

Ken Berwitz

Today\’s quote comes to us from, quite possibly, the only man who could say it with a straight face; President Barack Obama:

“I do all kinds of soul searching in terms of, are therethings that I can do better to make sure that we are unifying the country. ButI also have to say… that objectively it\’s fair to say that the Republicanpolitical elites and many of the information outlets, social media and newsstations, talk radio, television stations have been feeding the Republican basefor the last seven years a notion that everything I do is to be opposed, thatcooperation or compromise somehow is a betrayal, that maximalist, absolutistpositions on issues are politically advantageous, that there is a \’them\’ outthere and an \’us\’ and \’them\’ are the folks who are causing whatever theproblems you\’re experiencing and the tone of that politics, which I certainlyhave not contributed to.”

President Obama has done nothing to divide the country?  Nothing to divide the country????

It is other people who divide “us” and “them”, not the guy who sends emissaries to the funerals of Black street thugs, but not police officers shot down in the line of duty?  Who told us that if he had a son it would look like Trayvon?  Who set up and implemented the “My Brother\’s Keeper Alliance” program to help Black youth only – no non-Blacks need apply no matter how desperate their circumstances?

This some kind of conspiracy by “Republican political elites” and the media…which, we all know, just love Republicans to death?

Barack Obama wins Quote Of The Day honors for what may well be his most absurd comment of any kind on any issue since he took office.  And that, friends, takes some doing.

I cannot wait for January 20, 20017 at noon.
