Today\’s quote comes to us from someone named steve yuhas, who lives in California\’s upscale Rancho Santa Fe…and who apparently resents the drought-related water restrictions imposed by Governor Jerry Brown.
His attitude as reported by Rob Kuznia of the Washington Post?
“(People) should not be forced to live on property with brown lawns, golf on brown courses or apologize for wanting their gardens to be beautiful. We pay significant property taxes based on where we live. And, no, we\’re not all equal when it comes to water.”
Translation: I\’m rich, and I can afford it, so I\’ll use as much water as I damn well please. You little people scramble for the rest.
A little like Barbra Streisand and a few other high-level celebrities who were doing the same until shamed into cutting back their water usage (or at least that\’s what we\’ve been told they did; who knows?).
steve yuhas, however, has no such shame. He pays a lot of taxes, so he should have all the water he wants for everything he wants to do with it. The drought is for lesser beings.
Be assured that, if I ever create a Hall Of Fame for Quote Of The Day winners, this obtuse, disgusting man will be one of its occupants.
