THE QUOTE OF THE DAY

Today’s quote comes to us from National Football League (NFL) Commissioner Roger Goodell.

The Goodell – led NFL’s selection for its Superbowl halftime show is a Puerto Rican rapper named Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio:  stage name, “bad bunny”.

And now that bad bunny has enthralled the Grammy’s crowd with his attack on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) (he started with “Before I say thanks to God, I’m going to say ICE out” to loud cheering from the Grammy crowd, and continued from there), you might wonder what Goodell’s reaction would be.

Well, here it is:

“Listen, Bad Bunny is, and I think that was demonstrated last night, one of the great artists in the world. That’s one of the reasons we chose him.

“But the other reason is he understood the platform he was on, and that this platform is used to unite people and to be able to bring people together with their creativity, with their talent, and to be able to use this moment to do that.

“I think artists in the past have done that, I think Bad Bunny understands that, and I think he’ll have a great performance.”

I award Roger Goodell Quote Of The Day honors for being honest enough to tell NFL fans, obviously including the ones who will be attending the Super Bowl, how on-board he is with bad bunny’s attack on ICE.

Now let’s see how Super Bowl fans react when the half-time show takes place.

I have a feeling it won’t be prolonged cheering.
