Today’s quote comes to us from House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY).
This is what Rep. Jeffries has to say about Republican claims that some people at their town hall meetings are paid protesters sent by Democrats/their supporters….and the style of talking he uses to say it:
“Just got back to the Capital. Another day, another lie from these people who are out of control.
“I’m told that Donald Trump, Mike Johnson and the extreme MAGA Republicans are claiming that Democrats are sending paid protesters into their town hall meetings.
“What’s wrong with y’all? What’s wrong with y’all? We don’t need to send paid protesters into your town hall meetings.
“The American people are with us. All across the country people are rising up to push back against the assault on the economy, the assault on hardworking families, the assault on our democracy and the assault on Medicaid.
“We don’t need paid protesters, bro. The American people are with us.”
That was Hakeem Jeffries? That was the guy we have seen on TV for years, who speaks perfect english? He suddenly is using stereotyped ghetto language?

This is supposed to impress us?
And that’s before we get to his astonishingly dishonest claim that “The American people are with us”.
Political polling – not just an outlying poll but one after the other – shows that Democrats are at their lowest approval ratings in years. Polling also shows that a majority of Americans support just about every initiative Donald Trump is putting forth – government efficiency, secure borders…
…and then there is the issue of males competing in female sports.
A New York Times poll shows that 79% of the country is against this insanity. But, just yesterday, Democrats blocked a bill that would prohibit federally funded schools from allowing biological males from participating in women’s sports.
With 60 votes necessary to bring this legislation to a full senate vote, 51 Republicans voted in favor with two not voting. By contrast, 45 Democrats voted against it (with two not voting). NOT ONE DEMOCRAT voted in favor.
Does Hakeem Jeffries think this puts him and his party on the side of the American people???????????
I award Hakeem Jeffries Quote Of The Day “honors” for hitting a political daily double: both lying to our faces, and overtly pandering to a specific segment by using stereotyped racial language I have never heard from him before. (Does he think voters will be impressed by this? If so, he needs a refresher course in logic and common sense.)
