JASMINE CROCKETT: THE DANGER OF THE SAFE-SEAT DEMOCRAT

I’ve written about this before.  The Democrat Party is being destroyed by people – congresspeople mostly – in safe-seat districts who have no worry at all about saying the most imbecilic things imaginable.  THEY don’t suffer for  their imbecilic comments.  But Democrats in competitive races suffer for the damage they do to the overall party image.

The latest example is from someone who, in a short period of time, seems to actually have outdistanced Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as the loudest/dumbest of the bunch (and that is no small achievement):  Rep. Jasmine Crocket (D-TX).

Here is her latest, er, brilliance about the President of the United States:

“As far as I’m concerned he is an enemy to the United States. He swore an oath just like the rest of us. But right now, when you are literally putting us at risk, all cause of what? Cause you wanna convince your followers that you should be a dictator too? That you should never leave the White House, because you don’t believe that elections should take place.”

Got that?  Donald Trump – who just won a national election with an electoral landslide by sweeping every swing state, and currently has positive approval ratings in five of the last six polls at realclearpolitics.com, is an enemy of the country, who doesn’t believe in elections….presumably including the election he just won.

Could that comment be more mindless?  More ridiculous?  More needlessly insulting/incendiary?  I’d like to know how.

But don’t expect Jasmine Crockett to pay for her mindless/ridiculous/insultingly incendiary mouthing.  The congressional distruct she represents, Texas #30, is so heavily Democrat that no Republican even bothered to run last year.  She couldn’t lose if she tried.  So Crockett is liberated to make comments like this.

However, when she makes her mega-idiotic comments, none of which are never criticized at all by what passes for Democrat leadership these days, it seems self evident that it will be turning off some number – maybe a large number – of voters.

Simply stated, Crockett’s beyond-stupid mouth may not hurt her personally, but you can bet it hurts other Democrats.

Bottom line:  if I were a Republican strategist, my reaction to Jasmine Crockett would be two words, stated hopefully:  “Keep talking!”

And if the last couple of months is any indication, that is exactly what she will do.
