Today’s quote comes to us from Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
It seems Ms. Ocasio-Cortez objects to trans-women – i.e. men who say they either want to be or have convinced themselves they actually are women – being prevented from using women’s bathrooms and changing rooms.
Here is her “reasoning” (the bold print is mine):
“It’s disgusting. And everybody, no matter how you feel on this issue, should reject it completely. What are they doing? They’re doing this so that Nancy Mace can make a buck and send a text and, and, fund-raise off of an email. They’re not doing this to protect people. They’re endangering women, they’re endangering girls of all kinds, and everybody should reject it. It’s gross.”
Got that? Preventing biological males from using female facilities endangers women and girls (I assume that “of all kinds” throw-in is supposed to include the trans-woman crowd – the men who have decided they either want to be or actually are women).
Call me narrow-minded, but I consider the presence of men in places where women use toilet facilities and change their clothes as endangerment, not the prevention of them being there. Even if Rep. Nancy Mace might fund-raise based on it.
(Maybe Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez would like to tell us what positions she fund-raises on. Or does she hope we think Mace is the only one who does this?)
As for whether a trans-woman is actually female? My answer is no. He is not. The fact that a biological male wishes he were a female does not make him a female, any more than the fact that I wish I could hit home runs like Babe Ruth makes me a baseball hall of famer.
And having genital surgery doesn’t change things either. Illustratively, if I decided I should have been, or actually was, a bunny rabbit, and had a puffy tail and long ears surgically implanted, I still would be a man, not a bunny rabbit.
I award Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Quote Of The Day “honors” for doing what she does best; making ridiculous “woke”-left comments that, because she is in a safe Democrat district, will not cause her to be unseated,…but will make Democrats in competitive districts more and more vulnerable.
What a gift she is to the Republican Party.
