Today’s quote comes to us from “J.D.” (his actual name was not disclosed).
J.D. is one of 11 Black men participating in a focus group, conducted by the New York Times, who say they are likely to vote for Donald Trump this year.
Here is his reason: i.e. his dissatisfaction with Biden, Democrats in general, or both:
“It’s the pandering to the Black race, thinking that we are looking for a handout and feeling sorry for us, when we’re capable and culpable. And I feel like the pandering of ‘all you broken-down people, you need us, and here we are; we’re going to help you’ — it’s not a respectful tone or manner. It’s insulting, actually.”
I have lost count of how many blogs I’ve written which address this exact issue; why this type of “appeal” should be a turnoff to Black voters.
I award J.D. Quote Of The Day honors for seeing it and expressing it so clearly.
One other thing: J.D. is not the only participant with this view. Not by a long shot. You can read other such quotes at Robert McGreevey’s article for dailycaller.com.
