Today’s quote comes to us from Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY). It concerns today’s visit into the Bronx,(within her congressional district, by former President Donald Trump – which is sure to generate a huge crowd (as just about every event of his does).
Here is What Ocasio-Cortez had to say about it yesterday:
“Donald Trump is broke. He needs money. He’s hosting a rally to try to con people and try to fleece them out of every dollar that they have to fund his own legal fees,” she told reporters.
“And by the way, he’s doing it in the South Bronx, not to make a point, but because he’s got court and the man practically has the legal version of an ankle bracelet around him, and he can’t leave the five boroughs because he always has to be in court. And so it is truly an embarrassment to him.”
That so, Ms. O-C? Let’s take this comment in order:
Trump is broke? YOU should be so broke. Donald Trump has more millions – many, many more millions – than you have IQ points.
Trump needs money? Last month Trump outraised President Biden by 50% – $76 million to $51 million. So if he’s enormously rich personally, and significantly outraising Biden in campaign funds, what are you talking about?
Trump is trying to con/fleece people out of every dollar they have? Yeah, sure. And the cow jumped over the moon.
And then there is my favorite: “…the man practically has the legal version of an ankle bracelet around him, and he can’t leave the five boroughs because he always has to be in court.”
That is EXACTLY what Trump and his people – and even people who don’t like Trump – are saying; namely that the so-called “hush money trial” is little more than a political-warfare exercise in keeping Trump off the campaign trail….
….which (I wonder if she even realizes this) has backfired spectacularly: Trump’s poll numbers and campaign contributions have risen, not fallen, during this joke of a trial.
Bottom line? I”m sure Trump appreciates one of his most visible, vocal detractors admitting the truth about what this trial actually is… and is thrilled that, based on his poll numbers over the past month, much of the public realizes it as well.
I award Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Quote Of The Day honors for proving again, as she does so often, that she is a monumentally obtuse, ignorant loudmouth who thinks that because so much of our compromised media looks the other way at her serial stupidity, the serial stupidity doesn’t exist.
I have two words for you Alexandria: It does.
