Today’s quote comes to us from former Democratic National Committee (DNC) Press Secretary Jose Aristimuno.
On Friday’s edition of “The Faulkner Focus” on Fox News, Mr. Artistimuno gave his reasons why people should vote for Joe Biden, not Donald Trump.
But were they reasons?
Here are three segments of his commentary:
“….15,000,000 jobs created, I mean, you know this and this is real…
“…nobody wants a dictator in Donald Trump, he says he wants to be a dictator from day one…”
“…Donald Trump says he wants mass deportations for Latinos. If you’re a Latino American watching Fox News today, he wants to deport you, he wants you out…”
That’s quite an indictment. So let’s look at each part and see how it stacks up reality-wise.
-The 15,000,000 jobs? BS.
Non-farm jobs were at 153,000,000 when COVID 19 hit in March, 2020. That number dropped 23,000,000 in one month to 130,000,000 because the country shut down.
When Biden took office in January 2021, it had already risen back to 143,000,000…so the first 10,000,000 jobs he is taking credit for just got us back to the level we were at before the COVID pandemic.
Using the “logic” in Artistimuno’s claim, Donald Trump created 13,000,000 jobs in his last ten months of office. Did you ever hear him take credit for that? Or any Democrat give him credit for that the way they give Biden credit for the other 10,000,000? Nope. Nor should they have.
-Trump wanting to be a dictator from day one? BS.
The Trump quote Aristimuno is lying about came from Trump’s appearance on Sean Hannity’s show, when Hannity asked him whether he said he wanted to be a dictator.
Trump’s verbatim response: “He (Hannity) says, ‘You’re not going to be a dictator, are you?’ I said: ‘No, no, no, other than day one. We’re closing the border, and we’re drilling, drilling, drilling. After that, I’m not a dictator.’”
So Trump’s “dictator” reference was to the fact that – like Joe Biden did on his first day – he would handle those two issues, presumably by executive order and nothing else.
-Mass deportations for Latino Americans? BS.
Trump has never said any such thing, he has always talked about deportations for illegal aliens, the lion’s share of whom seem to be from Latino countries. Nowhere in any commentary has Trump ever advocated for deportations of legal Latinos from the United States.
I award Jose Aristimuno Quote Of The Day dishonors for lying to our faces over and over again about Donald Trump…and hoping that you are either too ignorant, too stupid, maybe too both, to know better…or so partisan that you won’t care that he is doing it.
