THE QUOTE OF THE DAY

Today\’s quote comes to us from President Obama – by virtue (talk about an inappropriate description) of his dismissive little lecture to Sony yesterday.

Sony, let\’s remember, has just gone through a month of supersedingly embarrassing revelations, courtesy of North Korean hackers who have made it more than clear they have a treasure trove of the company\’s private information – which certainly could include information relevant to the security of its offices and its people.

And there is a standing threat that, if Sony should go ahead with the general release of “The Interview”, a new movie that casts North Korea\’s unhinged lunatic head of state, kim jung un, in a negative light (no small accomplishment compared to what he does himself), there will be more such revelations — along with a 9/11-like catastrophe, presumably in theaters where it would be shown.

For this reason, five major theater chains have announced they will not be showing “The Interview” – which leaves Sony with almost no place to show it ….and the probability that theatergoers would be scared away from any theater that did.

So Sony, understandably, has pulled “The Interview” from its scheduled Christmas-day release.

And President Obama\’s reaction to Sony\’s decision?

“Ithink they made a mistake…I wish they\’d spoken to me first. Iwould have told them: Do not get into the pattern in which you areintimidated.”

Brilliant.  Great job of Monday morning quarterbacking, Mr. Obama.

See, all it would have taken was a call to the White House (which, by the way, Sony says it did), and everything would have been all better.  There would have been no need to kill off the movie (which, by the way, Sony said it has not done, only that it will not introduce it in theatrical release that day).

This, of course, is made fully credible by the tough stand President Obama has taken against kim jung un over the past 6 years, as he makes deranged threat after deranged threat against us and everyone else, which includes…uh..er…ah…well, never mind.

Say, isn\’t this the same President Obama who:

-stood by, fecklessly, as vladimir putin made an international joke of him and did whatever he wanted without a worry in the world that Mr. Obama might have done something about it,

-laid laid down a “red line” in Syria…and then, when it was blatantly crossed, collapsed like a broken umbrella,

-and gave Iran an ironclad timeline on ending its nuclear program, but then, when the timeline was over, turned the iron into guacamole and gave them over half a year more (thereby increasing the danger for Israel – supposedly our ally – thus making it more likely Israel will be forced to attack Iran as a necessity for its survival);

I award President Obama Quote Of The Day honors for proving, again as he has so many other times, that he his ego is vastly more impressive than his capabilities or accomplishments.

I wish I could tell you I\’m surprised.
