Today\’s quote comes to us from an especially rich source (that\’s a pun…as you\’ll see in a moment): President Barack Obama.
Here is part of an email that just went out under his name:
“Ifthe Republicans win, we know who they\’ll be fighting for. Onceagain, the interests of billionaires will come before the needs ofthe middle class.”
Pretty persuasive, wouldn\’t you say?
Except, yesterday, as the folks he sent that email to were fulminating over those damn Republicans and their association with the rich bastards they consort with, Mr. Obama was attending a fundraiser being hosted at the estate of Democrat billionaire Richard Richman. (Sounds like the cartoon character Richie Rich, doesn\’t it? Well, it might as well be).
And what was the cost of attending this fundraiser at billionaire Richie Richman\’s digs? Up to $32,000 a person: not a couple, but a person. Couples, presumably, forked over as much as $64,000 to hobnob with The One.
FYI, the average household income in 2013 was $51,939.
Oh, and for you folks who have bought into the premise that Mr. Obama turned the economy around, please be advised that this is up a big fat $180 from the $51,939 of 2012…..and down about $4,500 from the $56,436 average of 2007.
Heckuva turnaround, Obamy….
I award President Obama Quote Of The Day honors for showing us that, no matter how much dishonesty and hypocrisy we have learned to expect from him, he is perfectly capable of providing more.
