PREVENTING THE OBAMACARE NOVEMBER SURPRISE

This cannot happen.  President Obama – using his nonexistent power to change laws at will, like a hugo chavez or fidel castro – has got to do something to stop it.

Because, if he doesn\’t, people will be voting on reality rather than dishonesty, and Democrats are going to lose senate seats.

What am I talking about?

Im talking about the fact that, as things now stand, 13 states, and Washington DC will be cancelling the health insurance of hundreds of thousands of people at the end of the month – because they do not comply with the requirements of ObamaCare.

The cancellations should have occurred long ago, but – at President Obama\’s insistence – the states waited until the end of the year.

That, in itself, would not have been a political problem:  President Obama and the Democrat incumbents – all of whom voted for ObamaCare – could have avoided talking about the cancellations…and, with help from a generally complicit media, their opponents\’ attacks might not have gotten very far. The carnage, after all, would occur two months past election day.

But there is a problem:  namely that federal law mandates that people whose policies will be canceled must be notified at least 60 days beforehand.  And 60 days before December 31 is November 2 – two days before the election.

It is easy to ignore the cancellations before those letters go out.  It is impossible to ignore them when the letter are out.

All Republican challengers would have to do is reference the notices, remind people that President Obama lied to their faces when he said everyone could keep their present plan, and – most importantly for election purposes – remind them that their opponent voted for ObamaCare.

See why President Obama and his fellow Democrats can\’t let it happen?

I await Mr. Obama\’s attempt – probably successful, given the fact that so much of what passes for mainstream media will look the other way on his behalf – to make good and sure those notices do not go out when federal law says they must.

Let me end by posting an ad that was run last year by the Republican/conservative American Crossroads, which would be terrific for Republicans now – especially for Dan Sullivan in Alaska, running against incumbent Mark Begich (who happens to be the last person shown in the ad):

Pretty powerful, wouldn\’t you say?
