THE PLATNER FLATTENER?

This statement was just issued by the “Maine Democrat Party”:

Statement from Maine Democratic Party Leadership on Allegations Against Graham Platner

Augusta, Maine — “Maine Democratic Party leadership takes seriously our responsibility to hold every candidate who seeks to represent our state to the highest standard.

Over the past several weeks, multiple women have made serious, credible allegations against Graham Platner. Today’s statements take those allegations even further.

Maine Democratic Party leadership is calling on Graham Platner to withdraw as the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate.

The Maine Democratic Party leadership stands with women and survivors, and that principle does not bend based on party affiliation. We respect the women who made the hard decision to come forward. Speaking up is often costly.

We are entrusted with deciding who represents our values and who carries our banner. That responsibility requires judgment, leadership, and a willingness to act when circumstances demand it.

This Senate race comes at a pivotal moment in the struggle against a government, supported by Senator Collins, that serves the interests of the wealthy and powerful at the expense of ordinary Maine people. It is essential that we refocus this campaign on that struggle”.

Charlie Dingman, Chair

Imke Schessler, Vice Chair

Devon Murphy-Anderson, Executive Director

Fascinating.

See, graham platner’s nazi tattoo was no problem to his party’s commitment to offering candidates who meet the “highest standard”.

Nor was platner’s statements that he was a socialist and a communist.

Nor was the abuse he was accused of by those other women.

But this latest accusation by still another woman?  Now that’s too much.  If he had just stuck with the nazi tattoo, the communist self-designation and all the other abusive actions against women he’d have been just fine.  But one more accusation?  How dare he.

OK, now let’s see how long it takes for platner to go bye-bye…

…asssuming he does, that is.  Who knows?  Maybe he’ll tell Dingman, Schessler and Murphy that he won the primary, he’s the candidate, and that’s that.

I don’t expect it.  I expect he’ll bow out.  But with graham platner’s, er, quality of humanity you can’t be sure.

Stay tuned.
