Today’s paragraphs come to us from Norman Podhoretz’s article at commentary.com. they concerned the latest news, suddenly, without warning or fanfare, sprung on us by Robert Mueller:
The Washington Post reports tonight: “Special counsel Robert S. Mueller III informed President Trump’s attorneys last month that he is continuing to investigate the president but does not consider him a criminal target at this point, according to three people familiar with the discussions.”
You’re going to hear a lot about this story, and much of what you hear is going to focus on its secondary details. Among them, that Mueller is reportedly thinking of writing separate reports about the various charges and those reports could be very damaging
Do not be misled.
Yes, the story goes on to say that he might become a target later. But Mueller has been at this now for nine months with an aggressive staff. He has issued indictments of various figures and might be going after others. So telling Trump that he’s not a target is a very big deal.
Norman Podhoretz has done no more than report an obvious fact; that Robert Mueller, after almost a year of intensive investigation, has come up with nothing on Donald Trump.
The reason he wins Paragraphs Of The Day honors is for his 100% accurate prediction about how quickly left-wing media would be assuring its faithful that Mueller’s announcement doesn’t really mean anything, essentially suggesting that, politically, Trump still has one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel.
Personally, I’m fascinated by this. Does it mean that Mueller has other targets in sight? Like maybe Hillary Clinton and the people around her; the ones where there really is evidence of collusion?
I doubt it. But I don’t know for a fact one way or the other. And I can hope.

UPDATE: I just heard Professor Alan Dershowitz, whose immense intellect and sterling reputation we have to respect greatly, suggesting this is a tactic by Mueller to get President Trump in front of the grand jury, which, he tells us, he could be done if Trump is a target.
I don’t know how this works, and certainly am in no position to dispute what Professor Dershowitz says. So let’s stay tuned.
I would bet Hillary and podesta along with many other left-wing dirt-bags are laughing there asses off over how they have mired the first 16 months of Trump’s presidency in this Russian collusion fairytale.
How much more could Trump have accomplished if not for this collusion lie?
How much better off would our country be if not for this smear?
