THE PARAGRAPHS OF THE DAY

Ken Berwitz

Today\’s paragraphs – which, in actuality, comprise his entire blog – come to us from powerlineblog.com\’s Scott Johnson.

Here is what Mr. Johnson has to say about President Obama\’s joint press conference, yesterday, with French President Francois Hollande:

As President Obamaenters the stretch closing out his second term, he is dedicating himself tosealing his reputation as the worst president in American history. He long agoblew by President Carter. He\’s blowing by President Buchanan. He\’s taken thelead and he\’s putting distance between himself and the rest of the field.

Yesterday he deepenedhis hold on the laughingstock element of his performance in office. How tocombine suffocating arrogance with gut-busting stupidity? See the man doing histhing side by side with President Hollande who was looking for something betterthan this Bartlett\’s-worthy laugh line (video below): “[N]ext week, Iwill be joining President Hollande and world leaders in Paris for the GlobalClimate Conference. What a powerful rebuke to the terrorists it will be, whenthe world stands as one and shows that we will not be deterred from building abetter future for our children.”

And if that were not enough, co-blogger Paul Mirengoff added this:

In his effort tomount an international campaign against ISIS, President Hollande spent a daywith President Obama and will spend a day with Vladimir Putin. One can\’t helpwondering whether his purpose would have been better served by spending bothdays with Putin.

Tell me:  how demoralized do you figure ISIS, al-qaeda, hamas, hezbollah, etc. are at the thought of the President of the United States….attending a Global Climate conference?

I can just see them crapping their pants over it, can\’t you?

Scott – and, I should include Paul, too – win Paragraph Of The day honors for making a very strong case for their beliefs (personally, I don\’t know if Mr. Obama is our single worst President, but I definitely put him near the bottom of the heap) and for their righteous exasperation at how utterly ridiculous he sometimes….well, often….can be.
