Today\’s paragraph comes to us from John Hinderaker at powerlineblog.com. It provides an honest evaluation of the Iran “deal” which mainstream media somehow cannot bring themselves to talk realistically about:
If the long-term consequences of the administration\’s Iran deal are murky, the short-term results are crystal clear: on Implementation Day, estimated to occur in a matter of months, sanctions against Iran will be lifted and Iranian assets that have been frozen abroad will begin to flow back to Tehran. This is, of course, why the mullahs made the deal. Sanctions imposed by the U.S., the E.U. and the U.N. have crippled Iran\’s economy, made the regime unpopular, and limited Iran\’s ability to develop ICBMs and nuclear weapons and to support terrorist groups like Hezbollah and Hamas, along with rogue regimes like Assad\’s Syria.
John goes on to estimate that this will swell Iran\’s coffers by something like $100 – $150 billion dollars….and “the overall economic benefits from ending sanctions will be vastly greater”.
See, now that\’s a win-win deal if there ever were one:
-Iran gets tons of money to continue building its nuclear weapon capacity (no inspections of military sites? Where do you suppose the building will take place?).
-Barack Obama and John Kerry are in line for the Nobel Peace Prize (hey, why not. This is the same Nobel committee that gave one to yasir arafat. I wouldn\’t be surprised if bashar al-assed is in the running too).
And the only losers? The USA, Israel, and if this plays out a certain way, the entire rest of the world as well.
I mean, what could possibly go wrong?
Congratulations to John Hinderaker for laying this out so plainly. If only Barack Obama and his administration understood plain language as clearly as you write it.
