THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION AND LYING: LIKE PEAS AND CARROTS

I guess Forrest Gump should get Quote Of The Day Honors today.  His “peas and carrots” comparison is – again – right on when it comes to the Obama administration.

Here, via Paul Mirengoff\’s typically excellent blog at powerlineblog.com, is a quote from Barack Obama\’s former Secretary of the Treasury, Timothy Geithner\’s new book, in which he casually acknowledges being told to lie on national TV for his boss:

Iremember during one Roosevelt Room prep session before I appeared onthe Sunday shows, I objected when Dan Pfeiffer wanted me to saySocial Security didn’t contribute to the deficit. It wasn’t amain driver of our future deficits, but it did contribute. Pfeiffersaid the line was a \’dog whistle\’ to the left, a phrase I hadnever heard before. He had to explain that the phrase was code to theDemocratic base, signaling that we intended to protect SocialSecurity.

Social security of course, does contribute to the deficit, and will for as far as the eye can see.  The money has been more than spent, with fewer and fewer contributors paying for more and more beneficiaries – a trend that shows no signs of abating.

But, not to worry.  This is the Barack Obama administration, where lying is tolerated, even backed up , by his Accomplice Media, and people who speak out about the lying are immediately tagged with the dreaded “racist” designation, as if it answers anything at all.

That was the way of things when Geithner (himself no angel) was in the cabinet, and that is the way of things today.

Barack Obama and lying.  Like peas and carrots.

Sort of leaves a Gump in your throat, doesn\’t it?
