THE NEW YORK TIMES ELEVATES BARACK OBAMA\’S DESPICABLE COMPARISON

Sometimes, the best defense is a good offense.

And if you are the editorial board of the New York Times, ever vigilant in supporting/rationalizing/protecting President Obama and Democrats in general, that philosophy can quickly come into play.

In my previous blog, I reviled Mr. Obama for his incredibly ugly comparison of Republicans to the Iranians who, in state-sponsored demonstrations, march in the streets chanting “Death to America!”

His exact words:

“Just because Iranian hardliners chant “Death to America” does not mean that that\’s what all Iranians believe. In fact, it\’s those hardliners that are more satisfied with the status quo. It\’s those hardliners chanting “death to America” who\’ve been most opposed to the deal. They\’re making common cause with the Republican Caucus.”

I  then speculated about mainstream media\’s reaction, by suggesting that “If the last 6 1/2 years of pathetic butt-kissing is any indication, there may – may – be some criticism, maybe one day or two days\’ worth at the most. And then they will move on.”

But I didn\’t know the half of it.

Excerpted from this morning\’s New York Times\’ lead editorial, titled “A Compelling Defense of the Iran Deal”

Mr. Obama\’s defense of the deal, which is designed to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon in exchange for relief from sanctions, was blunt and forceful. He likened Republicans to Iranian hard-liners, saying both are more comfortable with the status quo.

Liars.  LIARS.

As you can plainly see, The Times removed the beyond-offensive comparative of Republicans chanting “Death to America”.  It is not there.  A reader of this editorial would not know he said it at all.

The Times deliberately edited Barack Obama\’s actual words, sanitized them into something more acceptable, and presented its edited version as accurate.

Let me say it again.  They are LIARS.

In response to yesterday\’s blog, commenter Steve Schneider pointed out that Mike Huckabee was raked over the coals for  equating the  “deal”  –  which, regardless of what the Obama acolytes claim, allows Iran to maintain the means of developing nuclear weaponry – with marching Jews to the ovens.  Huckabee\’s basis was that, like the nazis, Iran is on public record as wanting to annhilate Israel and kill all Jews everywhere.

Steve joined me in questioning whether mainstream media would come anywhere near attacking President Obama as much, for equating Republicans (not Democrats, just Republicans) who oppose this disastrous deal with people who hate us and demand the death of our country.

In this connection, I just googled “President Obama hardline Republicans chant Death To America” – without finding any reference to this comment from any of the three major networks.  In other words, it has been buried and suppressed by them on Barack Obama\’s behalf.

Am I surprised that our supposedly “neutral” media would do this?  No.  And I\’m sure Steve is no more surprised than I am.

But could either of us have imagined that a major news venue like the New York Times would brazenly alter what Mr. Obama said, and CELEBRATE the reworded comment?

The term “beneath contempt” is something of a cliche.  But if ever it applied in the most literal sense, this is the time.

I do not own the words to explain how repulsed I am by the New York Times today.
