THE MEXICO U.S. MEDIA DO NOT TALK ABOUT

My thanks to the Fort Worth, Texas Star-Telegram.  It has published an article by Matthew Martinez that tells us about the Mexico almost no mainstream media want us to know exists.

What am I talking about?  Read this excerpt and see:

Paradise has been overrun by violence.

One of the most popular tourist destinations in Mexico has recently been transformed into one of the bloodiest high-profile battlegrounds in a turf war between drug cartels.

Cancun, the party town on the beaches of the southeastern state of Quintana Roo, played host to 14 murders in one 36-hour span starting April 4, according to a translated version of a story from Mexican news outlet Notacaribe. Nine of the 14 were killed on April 4, making it the bloodiest single day in Cancun in more than a decade

Six separate incidents accounted for the 14 deaths and left five others with gunshot wounds. The murder rates in Cancun have doubled in the past year, according to the New York Post, which reported that 113 people have been killed in the erstwhile hotspot so far in 2018.

Drug cartels have been a part of Mexico for a good many years.  Along with these cartels, come murders – massive numbers of them (more than triple that of the USA), very often so grisly that I hesitate to provide details,

Now they have spread even to the tourist areas that Mexican governments – maybe even the cartels themselves at one time – kept relatively clean, so U.S. dollars could flow into the economy.

And, with drug trafficking so enormously profitable in the United States, does anyone doubt for a second that Mexican nationals illegally crossing our borders include members of those cartels, spreading their operations here?

Yes, a great many illegal aliens are decent people desperately trying to find a better life for themselves and their families than the corrupt, don’t-give-a-damn Mexican governments will ever provide for them (including the government under Mexico’s foul-mouthed, loud-mouthed, hypocritical, uber-obnoxious vicente fox).

But, without vetting of any kind, you get the drug traffickers as well -the ones whose depravity has now extended even into a major tourist area like Cancun.

That’s a little something our wonderful journalistic profession, largely sympathetic to illegal aliens, rarely gets around to telling us.

So thanks again to Matthew Martinez and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.  It’s nice to see that, at least somewhere, you can find the other side of the story.
