Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, the Mayor of Baltimore, who, during the street riots after Freddie Gray\’s death, was quoted by several sources as ordering the police to stand down (she denies it), and who, speaking about the street thugs afterwards, famously told us “We also gave those who wished to destroy space to do that” (she says she didn\’t mean it the way it came out), Has taken decisive action!
She has fired the police commissioner!
And what about marilyn mosby, the Baltimore State\’s attorney, who:
-apparently had ordered police to patrol the area where Freddie Gray was arrested more vigilantly because of the drug traffic there (Gray had been arrested at least 18 times in the past, almost all for drugs, and had spent time in jail),
-who claimed that the knife Gray had in his possession was legal (it wasn\’t),
-and who overcharged six police officers so egregiously that police now fear aggressively patrolling high crime areas because it might be their lives on the line instead of the thugs they are supposed to protect innocent people from – which has resulted in said street thugs realizing they now have the upper hand and running wild (since the police arrests, crime in Baltimore, especially violent crime, has soared).
Not one bad word about mosby. She\’s just fine. But that police commissioner? He\’s got to go.
Oh, to be living in Baltimore this summer……
