THE INCREDIBLE STUPIDITY OF THE IRAN “DEAL”

Let me start by providing a few links I found at the invaluable drudgereport.com.  I certainly urge you to read them…but I think that, even if you don\’t, the titles themselves tell the story:.

Iran, powers near to historic deal; USA says tough issues remain...

Tehran Made Illegal Purchases of Nuke Weapons Technology LAST MONTH...

EFFIGY OF OBAMA TORCHED DURING PROTEST...

Massive crowds chant \'Death to America\' and \'Death to Israel\'...

Iran came to us as a beggar nation, desperate for sanctions to be lifted so that its government could function – and it could continue funding terrorism around the world (which is where so much of its revenues are spent, instead of its people).

Given Iran\’s weakness, and its need for hard currency, talented negotiators could have gotten them to accede to just about every one of our demands.

Decent negotiators could have gotten them to accede to most of our demands.

Lousy negotiators could have gotten them to accede to at least some of the major ones.

But we do not have talented negotiators.  Or good ones.  Or even lousy ones.  We have John Kerry and Barack Obama.

The result? Iran now is getting virtually everything it wants – its nuclear capabilities remain in place, its centrifuges remain in place, no spot inspections of facilities where nuclear activity is taking place….all this, and sanctions suspended for the past year, while it diddles, doodles, dawdles and makes us wait, as if the USA and its European allies were the supplicant nations, not Iran.

How much further along is Iran toward nuclear weaponry now than it was when these “negotiations” began?  And, since there is no deal in place at the moment, whatever progress they have made is without not even a promise of cutting back on anything.

And where does this leave Israel, the country that Iran is on record as intending to wipe off the map?  What is Israel supposed to do?  Sit on its collective tuchuses and wait for Iran to do it?

In a very real sense, these neverending “negotiations” with a terrorist country which – even if it did make a deal that looked good on paper has a rich history of ignoring its commitments –  have brought us closer to a war, not further from one.  Because, unlike the USA and its benighted European partners, Israel does not have the luxury of waiting around to see what happens.

And if/when Israel does act?  Watch these same incredibly stupid “negotiators” immediately blame Israel rather than Iran.  I can just hear their pompous statements now:  “We were putting together a deal that, while not perfect, would have insured Israel\’s safety for many years.  But the Israelis refused to allow this to happen”.

I thought about finishing this blog with a word like “pathetic”, “idiotic” or similar.  But I think “incredibly stupid” pretty much tells the story.

A year and a half more to this nightmare administration.  God help us.
