Remember Harvard? Remember its feckless appeasement of the “pro-palestine” anarchists who took over part of the campus, disrupted student activities and threatened/harassed Jews on campus?
Well, Harvard has now struck a “deal” with them.
From an article at msn.com:
Harvard University and student protesters announced on Tuesday that they had negotiated an end to a pro-Palestinian encampment in Harvard Yard, with the university agreeing to discuss student questions about its endowment related to the war in Gaza and to quickly process petitions for the reinstatement of suspended students.
The article goes on to enumerate chapter and verse of all the “deal” elements – which include, of course, “disclosure, divestment and reinvestment”: in other words, screw Israel.
Wow, isn’t that just great! Harvard agrees to consider divesting from Israel and quickly reconsider all student suspensions and a bunch of other stuff – in other words, the anarchists get what they want…
…and, in return, the anarchists are leaving their encampment…which – amazing coincidence here – coincides with the end of classes for the semester and the beginning of summer. In other words, when they would have left anyway.
No promise that they won’t be back in the fall, though.
Could this be lamer? Could Harvard look worse? Could they more deservedly look worse?
If so, tell me how. I can’t come up with a way.
