Over recent weeks I have written about Hillary Clinton\’s email scandal – in which she ignored protocol, used personal accounts for email while Secretary Of State, then claimed she scrubbed only her personal emails…though the emails she saved had virtually nothing from the Benghazi period.
I call that a scandal. But I don\’t see any mainstream media calling it The Email Scandal.
I have also written about the Clinton Foundation scandal, in which many millions of dollars of foreign money flooded into its coffers while she was Secretary of State, from countries that are human rights cesspools, and only a tiny fraction of the foundations money went for anything that could even charitably be called charitable. But there apparently is a list of contributors who got one helluva lot of help with their special interests for the money they pumped in.
I call that a scandal. But I don\’t see any mainstream media calling it The Clinton Foundation Scandal.
So what do I see today at politico.com?
Here are the first two paragraphs of Alex Isenstadt\’s article about New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and what it, and amost all mainstream media, have happily called “The Bridgegate Scandal”:
The indictments of two former Christie allies in connection to their involvement in the Bridgegate scandal, and a guilty plea from a third, cast a harsh, unflattering light on the New Jersey governor. They rose troubling questions about his administration, and about whether Christie had propagated an environment in which political retaliation wasn’t just tolerated, but was standard operating procedure.
But, as a series of charges were unsealed at a federal court in Newark, there was nothing to suggest that Christie himself was in legal jeopardy. At a press conference on Friday, law enforcement officials overseeing the case repeatedly pushed back on questions about Christie\’s involvement in the 2013 plan to shut down two lanes of traffic on the George Washington Bridge as political payback to a local mayor who\’d refused to endorse the governor\’s reelection campaign.
Ahhh, now I know what a real scandal is. Not that meaningless crap about scrubbing emails related to a terrorist attack in which four Americans died, including our tortured, raped Ambassador. Not a highly suspect charitable foundation that might have been selling political favors for big bucks.
No no no.
A real scandal is when a year and a half ago, a couple of lanes were closed on a bridge for a few days – which the Governor has been cleared of personal involvement in by two separate investigations.
Oh, did I mention the Governor was a Republican?
I talk a lot about media bias in here. This is why.
