Since 2010, the Democrat Party has lost every part of government to Republicans – the White House, the Senate, the House of Representatives the Governorships and the statehouses.
So the party, of course, has decided to re-infuse itself with new, dynamic movers and shakers, right?
Uhhhhh……
…..here is the just-completed triumvirate of Senators Democrats have picked to lead them:
-Minority Leader: Chuck Schumer, 65 years old, 17 years in the senate;
-Minority Whip: Dick Durbin, 71 years old, 20 years in the senate;
-Assistant Democratic Leader: Patty Murray, 66 years old, 24 years in the senate.
That’s quite a dynamic new trio.
Look, this is not meant as a knock on any of these three senators – particularly Mr. Schumer who, despite the fact that we disagree on a good many issues, I consider to be an excellent legislator; someone who doesn’t just talk, he gets things done.
My point is that Democrats desperately need a changing of the guard; some new young blood to get its juices flowing.
Do these three, all of them on social security, qualify? Nope.
And that goes double for the House, where 76 year old Nancy “does anyone remember when she wasn’t there” Pelosi is working overtime to maintain her position as minority leader.
Note to the Democrat Party: Is this really who you think will lead you out of the mess you’re in?
That’s worth thinking about.
