PACKETDEAD?

Packetsled is a cyber-security provider.

And right now someone needs to provide it a new CEO.  Because its former one had to summarily quit…and quite possibly may be facing federal charges.

Why?  For directly and specifically threatening to assassinate President-to-be Donald Trump.

Think I’m kidding?  Read this, excerpted from Robert Donachie’s piece at dailycaller.com and see for yourself:

Matt Harrigan, president and CEO of PacketSled, stepped down Monday after he threatened to assassinate President-elect Donald Trump.

Harrigan threatened Trump on his personal Facebook page, which has since been deactivated. Some of the comments were captured by Reddit users, which can be found here.

“I’m going to kill the president. Elect,” he wrote. After Facebook users posted concerned replies, Harrigan doubled down, saying: “Nope, getting a sniper rifle and perching myself where it counts. Find a bedroom in the whitehouse that suits you motherfucker. I’ll find you.”

His final post read: “In no uncertain terms, fuck you America. Seriously. Fuck Off.”

Harrigan, being the brilliant fellow he is, realized afterward that this just might have been a tad over the line.  So he tweeted that what he said was a “flawed joke”.  Does that look like a joke to you?

When that didn’t fly, he escalated by tweeting that “I have no malicious intention towards the “…which is fascinating, because the POTUS happens to be Barack Obama, not Donald Trump.

The bottom line?  Packetsled – which, in fairness, appears to have been completely blindsided by harrigan’s hooliganism, issued the following statement:

“The PacketSled Board of Directors accepted the resignation of President and CEO Matthew Harrigan, effective immediately. Fred Wilmot, the company’s Chief Technology Officer, will serve as interim CEO while the Board of Directors conducts a search for a permanent replacement. We want to be very clear, PacketSled does not condone the comments made by Mr. Harrigan, which do not reflect the views or opinions of the company, its employees, investors or partners. ”

Exactly what the company should have said.

One other thing:  It is now FIVE DAYS since harrigan threatened to assassinate Donald Trump.

I googled “Matt Harrigan assassinate Donald Trump and looked at the first three full pages.  Nothing from CBS.  Nothing from NBC.  Nothing from ABC.  Zero from all three major networks.

These are the nice folks who keep telling you they are journalistic professionals who provide us with completely neutral coverage.

Anyone think that if the CEO of a company threatened to assassinate Hillary Clinton it would be ignored by all the networks?

Me neither.
