BlackBrunchNY was a brainstorm of the rapidly diminishing Michael Brown/Eric Garner protest movement. The idea was that “protesters” would form flash mobs in restaurants around town and annoy people eating brunch around the city for no apparent reason, other than, well, to annoy people eating brunch.
For the most part, it has been met with a combination of amusement, bemusement and ridicule.
But few have brought the idiocy of this “strategy\’ home better than Michelle Malkin.
Click here to read her entire piece. You won\’t regret it. Meanwhile, here are a few excerpts:
This is war!
Onyour omelettes.
Thisweekend, an organizing manual obtained and published by the WeaselZippers blog (which was subsequently knocked offline for 12 hours byretaliatory activists) explained the Black Brunch agenda. Only thosewho are “black and of the African diaspora” received theguide. Black Brunch, they were told, is “a form of resistanceand a direct action tactic” to “reclaim our humanity andright to unapologetically hold space in public.”
Thefarce, of course, is that this impudent “resistance”movement deliberately chooses marshmallow-soft targets where theywill encounter absolutely no resistance of any kind to theirtrespassing.
BlackBrunchers didn\’t stomp their way into truck stops, police cafeteriasor military bases. They targeted privileged liberal enclaves inOakland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Baltimore and New York City overthe past month to raise the consciousness of unsuspecting midmorningdiners. The Black Brunch bunch earned their badges of courage bybarging into coffee shops, blocking lines at hummus snack stands andeven grandstanding at an Apple computer store (huh?) wheresympathetic hipsters and pliant employees simply rolled over.
No justice, no quiche!
Opposingracism now means practicing it in the most obnoxious manner possible. The Black Brunch bigots painted every innocent customer as apractitioner of “genocide.” One participant ordered peopleof color to “STAND in deference and solidarity.” Anotheraccused a black restaurant manager of “internaliz(ing) whitesupremacy.”
Thisself-indulgent overreach is a hallmark of modern leftist organizers.
Theseentitled thugs have beclowned themselves, plain and simple. Theirworst enemies are the ones in the reflections of the windows they\’resmashing. The worst racists are the ones smirking in their ownInstagram selfies.
Earthto Black Brunch brats: You\’re not righteous. You\’re just rude.
Pathetic? Not even. It doesn\’t rise that high.
Let me end by offering my thank-you to Ms. Malkin for “no justice, no quiche”. That line is absolutely classic.
