President Biden and his people are concerned that the public, for some reason, isn’t on board with how successful “Bidenomics” has been for them and, more generally, how wonderfully the country is doing right now.
Do they have a point?
Well, here, from realclearpolitics.com, is President Joe Biden’s approval rating in every major poll they aggregate, for the entire month of December:

Y’know, I think Biden and his people are onto something.
Maybe it’s because, generally, they remember back to the way things were/how much better they were before Biden took office. Maybe it’s specifically the prices people now pay at the supermarket. Maybe it’s the astronomical interest rates. Maybe it’s the wide-open southern Border. Maybe it’s the Biden-inspired inquisition of Donald Trump. Maybe it’s the remembrance of our impossibly disastrous exit from Afghanistan. Or some other issue that affects their approval ratings. Who knows?
All we do know is that if these polls are correct – and that’s a whole bunch of them from a whole bunch of different sources saying the same thing…
…the publicity campaigns Biden & Co. are trying, coupled with the efforts expended by much of our media to convince people that Biden is a successful President rather than a doddering, cognitively challenged incompetent, are not working.
The good news for Biden is that this is December of 2023, and the next election is November of 2024. A lot can happen between now and then, and what happens can be beneficial to his re-election prospects.
The bad news is that what can happen does not have to be beneficial. It can be even more damaging than what is blowing away Biden’s approval numbers right now.
And it’s not like they can send Biden out on the campaign trail to turn things around. They want Biden out there extemporizing about political and social issues about as much as they want an advanced case of impetigo.
Is this causing the Biden alternatives to get ready as possible replacements?
-Is Kamala Harris trying to re-season her word salads?
-Is Gavin Newsom making sure his hair is nicely combed?
-Is Michele Obama ready to explain why someone whose only political experience is sleeping with a President should become one?
Election 2024 might turn out to be a lot of different things. But I guarantee that boring will not be one of them.
