The AP used to stand for The Associated Press. And The Associated Press used to stand for neutral journalism.
Not any more.
I’ve put up a number of examples over recent years, but this one really does stand above (or maybe I should say below) the others.
Look at the headline of Aamer Madhani and Meg Kinnard’s AP article, describing Joe Biden’s trip to South Carolina, and see for yourself:
Biden is heading to South Carolina to show his economic agenda is keeping even red states humming
That, folks, is not the headline of a neutral article. It is a campaign statement from the Biden ’24 committee.
Sad to see what the Associated Press has degenerated into, but there it is in front of your eyes.
