ANTI-FASCIST FASCISTS AT WORK: UC-BERKELEY

Who are anti-fascist fascists?  They are people who profess to be against fascism…and then demonstrate their self-proclaimed anti-fascism by acting like exactly what they claim to be against.

The latest example?  Read this, from Aarya Mukherjee & Chesney Evert’s article for the UC-Berkeley Daily Californian:

3 arrested in violent altercation ahead of TPUSA event at UC Berkeley

At least three individuals have been arrested at UC Berkeley following violent altercations outside tonight’s Turning Point USA event at Zellerbach Hall.

Two of the detained individuals were arrested following a physical fight, and another was arrested after attempting to cross the barrier in front of Zellerbach Hall.

Around 4:50 p.m., a crowd of protesters encircled an event attendee standing behind a table of TPUSA’s “Freedom” T-shirts, which commemorate what TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk wore when he was assassinated in September. Chants of “antisemite, go the f— home,” “F— you, fascist” and “chinga la migra” broke out. One of the protesters threw a shirt on the ground and a fight between the protester and an individual supporting TPUSA ensued.

The article goes on, complete with pictures, but I assume you get the idea.

Fascinating, isn’t it, that these far leftists, who claim to be against fascism, are so committed to preventing any side but theirs from being heard – which, the last time I checked, is a basic hallmark of…..fascism.

And don’t for a minute think that this is some one-off situation specific to UC-Berkeley.  It has become harder and harder for political conservatives to speak at colleges and universities around the country, for exactly the same reason:  self-identifying anti-fascists acting fascistically.

At some point, I keep thinking, this has to hit some limit.  That there has to be a point where such behavior in so-called higher learning institutions is not tolerated.  Where all voices are heard.

Evidently we are not there yet.  And I’m starting to wonder if we ever will  be.

One last thing:  my congratulations to UC-Berkekey students Aarya Mukherjee and Chesney Evert, who wrote the article excerpted above.  I hope the anti-fascist fascists they have written about don’t go after them for daring to report what happened at the Turning Point event.  But, sadly, it will not at all surprise me if that is what happens.
