CBS News – New York is reporting that Rosie O\’Donnell\’s 17 year old daughter, Chelsea, is missing – and has been for the past week.
As a father and grandfather, my heart goes out to Ms. O\’Donnell. Please join me in hoping that she turns up safe and sound.

UPDATE: Good news. It has been announced that Chelsea O\’Donnell has been found.
But, after that, it becomes shrouded in mystery and intrigue. Apparently she was not reported missing until Sunday – five days after she left. And apparently there have been problems, both between Rosie and Chelsea, and between Rosie and Chelsea\’s birth mother, who lives in Wisconsin (does Rosie O\’Donnell get along with anyone?).
If there is any more to this worth blogging about, I\’ll do so when I find out about it.

FURTHER UPDATE: Now the New York Post is reporting that Chelsea is mentally ill, not taking her medications, and spent the last few days at the home of an alleged heroin dealer on the Jersey shore.
I don\’t begin to know what to make of this. But I don\’t envy Ms. O\’Donnell the situation she has to deal with.
