RECOGNIZING ILLEGALS AS ILLEGALS

Congratulations are in order for Paul Wooten, an associate justice of the Appellate Division for the Second Judicial Department in New York.

Why would congratulations be offered, to Judge Wooten?

Because, as noted in Jeff Coltin’s article at msn.com, Judge Wooten, upholding a lower court decision, has ruled that a New York City law which would have allowed non-citizens to vote in local elections was unconstitutional.

If enacted, this law would have created an additional 850,000 voters in New York City’s local elections (and, you can bet, all elections before long) – which, pretty obviously, would make illegal voters one of the most important important voting blocs there, if not the single most important of them all.

The problem?  They are ILLEGALS.  They have NO LEGAL RIGHT TO BE HERE.

And, as such, the city’s overall governance – its elected officials, every proposition put to a vote, etc. – would have been massively impacted by people, presumably voting in their own interests, who have no right to be there in the first place.

So my congratulations to Judge Wooten for his ruling – even though, given the transcendently ridiculous nature of giving these people voting rights, it would seem near-impossible to have ruled any other way….

…though, on the other hand…

…given that, earlier this month, a New York judge ruled Donald Trump committed fraud and has to pay over $400 million dollars despite there being no complainants at all – not one – and people in the industry testifying that his allegedly fraudulent business practices were entirely typical/expected, maybe it actually is an accomplishment for a New York judge to make an obvious ruling.
