Quin Hillyer is a contributing editor at nationalreview.com. In that capacity, he has written a lament about President Obama that vividly brings features the problems with this man and his administration.
You can read it all by clicking here, but let me show you a few (by no means all) of the key points Mr. Hillyer makes:
Knowledgeablepeople were calling for Obama to beginair strikes against the Islamic State barbarians monthsbefore Obama could rouse himself to admit that the brutes weresomething other than “jayvee” terrorists. Because he didn\’t,thousands of innocents died, villages were razed, churches weredestroyed, thousands more were left homeless, and vast swaths ofterritory were lost to purveyors of pure, unadulterated evil.
Andnow, after several years of the Islamic State rising, after half ayear of its being obvious that the Islamic State is a new sort ofthreat, after a couple of months of vicious terror of a sort eventhis troubled modern world has rarely seen, and after the IslamicState beheaded an American journalist on camera, we have a manpretending to be president who tells the world that the leaders ofthe globe\’s most powerful nation still “don\’t have a strategyyet” for the situation.
Wordsfail.
Meanwhile,Russia invades the sovereign nation of Ukraine. Barack Obama can\’teven bring himself to acknowledge that it’s an invasion, much lessdo anything effective about it.
Evenworse than his failure to help a sovereign nation stand up to a bullyis Obama\’s betrayal of another ally, one of our most crucialpartners on the world stage – Israel. But that\’s what Obama andhis pompous secretary of state, John Kerry, have done with relationto Israel, on multiple counts.
AsIsrael achieves the unprecedented – and encouraging – status of atacit alliance with Egypt, Jordan, other “moderate” Arab states, and even (to some degree) Saudi Arabia, leave it to the Obamites todemand the intercession of terrorist-supporting Turkey and Qatar. This isn\’t misguided; it\’s depraved.
Theeconomy continues on its path of the slowest “recovery” sinceWorld War II…Food-stampuse is way up; the percentage of the work force currently employedremains at or near record lows. Energy costs, especially forgasoline, have skyrocketed since his first inauguration. Disasterrelief has been bungled(or worse). And, of course, religious freedoms are constantly under assault, while political enemies are harassed and discriminated against by acorrupt IRS.
Scandalsabound: Fast and Furious; the New Black Panthers, Benghazi; the NSA\’sdomestic spying; the IRS; mistreated inspectors general; race-based”justice.” Cover-ups aplenty; contempt of court; judicialsmackdowns galore: The list goes on.
Butall Obama can do, when he is not greatly exacerbating whateverproblem he chooses to create, is retreat further into his princelingworld, hobnobbing with the rich and famous, shifting blame toeveryone else, and acting as if somehow he wafts above the ordinaryworld of politics that in truth he has done so much to pollute.
Mr. Hillyer concludes his piece by asking – more like begging – Barack Obama to just go away.
I understand his anguish, though I feel he is not fully taking into account the fact that, if this happened our President for t6he next two-plus years would be Joe Biden (which gives me the shakes altogether).
That aside, Quin Hillyer has put a lot of what is wrong with this administration into a very few words. I commend him on an excellent job – and wish (though I certainly do not expect) that some of Mr. Obama\’s Accomplice Media would read it and realize just how much they have looked the other way on, thus how complicit they are in our downward spiral.
