OUR STEALTH MANUFACTURING SLUMP

Did you hear about the fact that, for 6 consecutive months, U.S. Manufacturing has either held even or dropped?  Not one gain in a half a year?

I didn\’t think so.

Here are the numbers:

December, 2014:  .0%

January, 2015:    -.4%

February:              0%

March:                 .0%

April:                 -.5%

May:                  -.2%

How do you define a manufacturing slump?  Would it be fair to say that negative growth for a half year qualifies?

Now:  Why is this not news?  Why is it so likely that this blog is the only place you have seen the above information (am I right?)

Do you think a half year of negative growth would have been news if it occurred during the Bush presidency – especially if the President and his people were continually telling us what a strong recovery the country was experiencing as it happened?

I talk a lot about media bias in here.  This is why.
