President Obama has finally acted on ebola. He has named a new “Ebola Czar”
The ebola czar is…..Ron Klain. Here is how he is described by the New York Times:
PresidentObama will appoint Ron Klain, a former chief of staff for VicePresidents Al Gore and Joseph R. Biden Jr., to manage thegovernment\’s response to the deadly virus as anxiety grows over itspossible spread, a White House official said on Friday.
Mr. Klain, who is known for his ability to handle high-stakes and fast-moving political crises, will be responsible for coordinating the government\’s overall response to the Ebola epidemic, including efforts to contain the virus in Africa and the response to its arrival in the United States.
He was the lead Democratic lawyer for Mr. Gore during the 2000 election recount, and was later played by Kevin Spacey in the HBO drama” Recount” about the disputed contest.
Heserved as chief of staff to Mr. Biden from 2009 to 2011, and held thesame post from 1995 to 1999 for Mr. Gore.
Do you see anything – even one word – about Ron Klain\’s experience in health care? Disease control? International relations?
Un effing believable.
Even as Democrats desperately try to sell us on the premise that if we had a Surgeon General this year (i.e. a health expert) ebola might not have been a problem, President Obama\’s choice to oversee the ebola crisis is a partisan political hack who has absolutely no experience with anything related to it.
This is astounding, even by Obama\’s “standards”.
Putting a political operative in charge of protecting the country from a deadly virus makes us less safe, not more. Any schoolchild could tell you that.
But it\’s what President Obama does anyway – as he keeps those flights going between the USA and West Africa, and as he keeps our borders nice and open, so an untold number of other Thomas E. Duncan\’s can stroll across and get free hospital care while endangering the rest of us.
Does Barack Obama give a damn about whether this virus, with its 70% mortality rate, grows and spreads?
Of all the dumbass, incompetent actions he has taken, this may be the single worst of them. I hope the outcry is immediate, and so loud that even this tone-deaf President can hear it.
