This one says a lot…but not enough:
Now, supplement the above reality with the fact that, prior to 1965 there is not one written documentation of any kind that there was some discrete Arab group called “Palestinians”. Not in the west, not in the Arab world, nowhere.
Even in yasir arafat’s original Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) charter of 1964, the people were referenced not as “Palestinians” but as “Palestinian Arabs” – to distinguish them from Palestinians who weren’t Arabs. There was no pretense of a specific Arab tribe until a year or two later…when it apparently was determined useful to invent one.
It should therefore be no surprise that western and Arab writing contains countless references to “Palestinian Arabs”. Fair enough, because, as pointed out above, there certainly have been Arabs in the land area (NOT country , but LAND AREA – there never a country of Palestine) throughout the centuries. Ditto for Islam – which came into being during the 7th century BC. — over 40 centuries after Jews were on this land.
So what we have here is a Jewish presence in what is now called Palestine for almost 58 centuries, an Islamic presence for about 14 centuries, and a “Palestinian” presence ever since yasir arafat and his pals invented this so-called discrete Arab group in the mid-1960’s.
Got it? Good. Remember it. And tell your friends.
