OBAMACARNAGE: THE REAL COST

In case there is any doubt that President Obama\’s claim of an average savings of $2,500 per family for ObamaCare was about as factual as a report on kim jung un by the North Korean press…

…we have the following information from Avik Roy\’s latest article at forbes.com, in which he and his team analyze its real cost – not with bloviating BS, but with real data:

Across the country, for men overall, individual-market premiumswent up in 91 percent of all counties: 2,844 out of 3,137. For 27-year-old men,the average county faced 91 percent increases; for 40-year-old men, 60 percent;for 64-year-old men, 32 percent.

Women fared slightly better; their premiums “only” went up in 82percent of all counties: 2,562 out of 3,137. That\’s because Obamacare barsinsurers from charging different rates to men and women; prior to Obamacare, only 11 states did so. Because women tend to consume more health care than men,the end result of the Obamacare regulation is that men fare somewhat worse.

Relative to men, the average rate increase for women was lessextreme: 44 percent for 27-year-olds; 23 percent for 40-year-olds; 42 percentfor 64-year-olds

Can you find any group, at any age, that is saving money with ObamaCare?

The answer, it may surprise you to know, is yes.  Though not shown in the above excerpt, a great many people are, in fact, doing so:  those who receive enough in the way of government subsidies to significantly lower their premium costs or make them disappear altogether.

The problem with that, of course, is that one person\’s subsidy is another person\’s additional tax burden…and everyone\’s additional national deficit burden.

Money does not magically materialize out of thin air.  It comes from somewhere.  If you are not paying for your insurance, someone else is.  That, I would think, is a reasonably easy concept to understand.  But it either is lost on the Obamanites or they just don\’t care (I\’m betting on door #2).

ObamaCare remains what it always has been;  an unworkable monstrosity and a huge redistribution of wealth, which Obama & Co. never stop lying about.

Like just about everything else.
