NOTABLE QUOTABLES

Ken Berwitz

Every two weeks, the Media Research Center (MRC) puts up a blog called “Notable Quotables” – a list of what its staff considers the most asinine partisan quotes our wonderful “neutral” mainstream media and assorted leftward show hosts have made during that period.

The latest edition is especially meaty.  So I am posting this link for you to read it and see why.  Meanwhile, I\’ll put up just a few of my favorites – in rust, with my comments in blue:

Host Alisyn Camerota: “If there\’s nosmoking gun, when does the e-mail issue go away – and voters don\’t seem to careabout it, according to polls. When does the e-mail issue go away for Hillary?” – CNN\’s New Day,September 1. (After three months ofClinton\’s poll numbers going straight down as it is reported – often with thesame “hey, it\’s nothing at all, honest” breadth expressed by Ms.Camerota);

 NBC’sChuck Todd: “No, there\’s not…Whether she knowingly passedaround classified information in an unclassified setting, there is no evidenceto suggest that, that story doesn\’t hold up.” – Exchange on NBC\’s Today,September 1.   (Sure, Chuck.  Fouryears as Secretary Of State, every day of which Clinton used her personalserver.  Do you understand that you are saying, in so many words, thatduring the four years Hillary Clinton was Secretary Of State, every day ofwhich she used her personal server, this means no classified information waspassed to or from her in that time?  The Secretary Of State?  That is soimbecilic that the word has not been invented to adequately describe it.

 Editorial page editor AndrewRosenthal: “Well, they might come up with a candidate who canactually run for office without making an idiot of himself. They don\’t seem tobe able to have done that, yet.” – Exchangeduring an “Inside the Times podcast, September 3.   (Thanks,Andrew.  Nice to know that a successful two-time governor of Florida, asuccessful two-time Governor of Ohio, a world renowned pediatric neurosurgeon,a woman who rose from the bottom to head one of the world\’s largest technologycompanies, and assorted other Governors and Senators are incapable of actinglike anything but idiots.  I\’m sure their backgrounds and accomplishmentscould never measure up to the, er, “quality” of your writing on theTimes editorial page — a job that your daddy, the former Executive Editor ofThe Times, had nothing to do with you getting, I\’m sure.)

And, yes, there is a ton more just like it.  Use the link and be prepared to either laugh, gnash your teeth, shake your head, or some combination of all three.
