(NOT) RUNNING ON BARACK OBAMA\’S RECORD

The two major “achievements” of President Barack Obama\’s time in office are “The Affordable Care Act” – more commonly known as ObamaCare, and the so-called “stimulus package”, which was supposed to put countless shovel-ready jobs into play.

We are at the end of the midterm campaign, almost 6 years after both were enacted.

How many Democrats ran on either ObamaCare or the benefits of is “stimulus package”?

The next time an Obama supporter tells you about what a great job he\’s doing, you might mention this, then ask him/her how come.

Oh, and if the response is that his biggest achievements are getting us out of Iraq and Afghanistan, and/or halving the deficit, you might mention that:

-The withdrawal of troops was negotiated, and formally agreed to, by President George Bush in November, 2008, so Barack Obama, while taking all the credit for the withdrawal, actually had nothing to do with it…his major achievement in Iraq was not insisting on a residual US force to stay there, which might have prevented ISIS from taking over a huge chunk of the country.

-When Bush left office there were about 30,000 troops in Afghanistan.  It was Barack Obama, not George Bush, who tripled the number of troops there, which is why more than 3/4 of all casualties in Afghanistan are on Obama\’s watch, not Bush\’s.  So when Obama tells us how much he has drawn down the troops from the high of over 90,000, he is taking out the troops that he – not Bush, but he – put there in the first place.

-The largest deficit George Bush ever had was 458 billion dollars.  Every Obama budget, without exception, has been higher than that, with several of them above a trillion dollars.  His “I halved the deficit” line is based on blaming Bush for the 2009 deficit – which Bush never signed.  It was held over by the Democrat-controlled congress until Obama could insert the “stimulus” package” and assorted other goodies, with the final budget components signed into law by Obama – not Bush, but Obama – on March 11,2009 – almost two months after Bush was out of office.  So he hasn\’t halved the deficit, he has raised it.  Every year.
