Ken Berwitz
I just caught the end of an interview, on CNN with joe olson, the former President of Upqua Community College.
He informed us that there was a discussion about whether to have armed security at the school, there were people on both sides, and it was his decision not to have any.
He was then asked if he regretted that decision. And as 10 students lay in the morgue and others try to recover from their wounds, he told us that no, he had no regrets, it was the right decision.
His reason? Because when someone goes on a campus to kill people, he gets it done in the first few minutes, so armed guards would not help.
Is this man a complete idiot?
Did he happen to notice that usually, after the first few minutes, police arrive and the killer can\’t continue?
Does it occur to him that the presence of armed guards is a DETERRENT, which might cause a potential killer not to go there at all?
This is the man who headed that college? This is the mindset he brought to the job?
Un effing believable.
