Who is chris harper mercer, the killer of at least 10, with 7 more injured at Upqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon?
Here is the first information I\’ve seen, taken from a surprisingly detailed article by Liam Stack in today\’s New York Times:
-He was very withdrawn and very close to his mother;-He wpre combat boots, green army pants and a white T-shirt every day;-He was very interested in the Irish Republican Army (this may bear on his self-description, in an online dating site, as a “Republican”);-He posed, online, holding a rifle;-He self-described as an introvert and someone who disliked organized religion (which is somewhat in contradiction to his asking if students were Christian and shooting them dead if he were. A more generalized dislike of organized religion would cause him to only ask if they were religious).
I\’m sure a lot more will come out in a short period of time – and there certainly is a possibility that it will be contradictory to what you just read.
We\’ll see.
