MUELLER’S FINDINGS: THE DEMOCRAT’S D (FOR DISASTROUS) DAY

From Sarah N. Lynch and Andy Sullivan’s article for Reuters:

U.S. Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report on Russian interference in the 2016 election did not find that President Donald Trump committed a crime but also does not exonerate him, according to a summary of Mueller’s findings released on Sunday.

Mueller, who spent nearly two years investigating allegations that Russia meddled in the 2016 election to help Trump defeat his Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton, also found no evidence that any member of Trump’s election campaign conspired with Russia during the election. “While this report does not conclude that the president committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him,” Attorney General William Barr quoted Mueller as writing in his report on the issue of possible obstruction of justice.

Mueller said he would leave it to the attorney general to decide whether a crime was committed.

Barr’s summary said Mueller found no evidence that the Trump campaign coordinated with Russia, despite multiple offers from individuals associated with Russia.

Translation:  a big fat nothingburger on toast.

And don’t you love that “no evidence but it also does not exonerate him” line?  For the record, there is no evidence that I robbed a bank this weekend, but the fact that there is no evidence does not exonerate me either.

This is the culmination of two years during which countless Democrats -and some individual Democrats countless times (Adam Schiff immediately jumps to the head of the classless on that one) – assured us that there was no doubt Trump was guilty, that he and the people around him, including his children, were headed for jail, and that, next, they’d go after Pence.

Note to Hillary:  Keep that royal robe and crown in mothballs.

The loudmouths like Schiff, Nadler, and their numerous pals in media, can try to spin this any way they want.  But it is a disaster for them.

And if you agree with me that this is a disaster, wait until you see how much worse it gets if these same Democrats/media acolytes decide mueller’s all-Democrat staff didn’t really go after Trump so they’re going to continue investigating him and his people for the same imaginary crimes.

Hey, here’s a thought… in the form of a suggestion to these folks:  how about giving up the ghost/witch hunt/wild goose chase (pick your own description) and trying to do something for the people of this country – the legal ones.

That would be a refreshing change.

  • For some reason I’m seeing Robert DuVall yelling “this committee owes an apology! This committee owes an apology Senator!”

  • NY State and NY City have been making noises about investigating Trump for violating state and local laws.

If the Dems can keep Trump scurrying to respond to subpoenas, depositions, etc. running the country will become difficult.

Sarah Palin, as governor of Alaska, had no protection against such harassment, which is why she resigned halfway into her term.

    Questions:

    1. Is there a statute of limitations for the city and state ‘charges’ that Trump could face?

    2. Can a sitting President be charged with civil crimes ? Or is he immune while in office?
