Evidently we are not sufficiently polarized along racial grounds. So the Michael Brown shooting is being used to make good and sure that polarization is brought up to speed.
First, a quick review of the facts.
Michael Brown…
…an 18 year old behemoth (6\’ 4″ tall, almost 300 lbs)…
… with a police record his family is zealously guarding us from seeing…
…robbed a convenience store of Swisher Sweets cigars (a favorite of marijuana smokers because they are easy to hollow out and replace with pot)…
… roughed up the clerk (owner?) who apparently tried to stop him from taking them…
… then, with his friend dorian Johnson – already a seasoned criminal with a history of lying to police (including his original claim that he met up with Brown on the street until the convenience store surveillance tape showed he was lying)…
…decided it would be a great idea to walk not on the sidewalk, but in the middle of the road – an action guaranteed to draw the attention of any police officer who saw it…
…and when Officer Darren Wilson drove up in his police car and told them to get on the sidewalk…
…the autopsy results, along with multiple witnesses, indicate Brown reached into the police car and wrestled with Wilson, possibly trying to get Wilson\’s gun…
…his judgment probably impaired by the fact that, according to the autopsy, he had more than double the amount of marijuana in his body that would cause such impairment…
…which resulted in a continuing altercation outside the police car…
…and, ultimately, Brown being shot and killed…
…while Brown was facing Wilson, not running away as several witnesses lied about (again, those pesky autopsy results)…
…and almost certainly not in any position of surrender.
Despite these facts – incredibly – Michael Brown is who one Black “leader” after another is going to war over.
He is the person who, by their actions, these “leaders” are treating as a major symbol of Black oppression in the USA.
He is the excuse for two rounds of rioting, looting and arson in Ferguson, Missouri.
He is the excuse for disruptive protests throughout the United States.
He is the reason those five St. Louis Rams football players pretended the autopsy results meant nothing at all, and came out with their “Hands up. Don\’t shoot” gesture before Monday\’s nationally televised NFL game.
He is the reason several Black congresspeople, also pretending the autopsy results mean nothing at all, did the same on the floor of the house yesterday.
He is the reason that President Obama convened a meeting of Black “leaders” to the White House yesterday (including career racist, Black supremacist, anti-Semite and serial deadbeat al Sharpton) and talked about nothing but how Black people were being wronged, with not one word about the facts which revealed Michael Brown\’s actions and how they informed what happened to him – or, more generally, the hugely disproportionate amount of crime among young Black people like Brown and dorian johnson. According to Rebecca Kaplan\’s article at CBS News (bold print is mine):
The president spoke after a meeting with elected officials, community and faith leaders, law enforcement officials and several other members of his administration. There were no law enforcement or elected officials from the Ferguson or St. Louis area present, even though the meeting was arranged to discuss ways to improve the accountability and trust between police and communities.
In short, the circumstances of Michael Brown\’s death – the real ones, not the made-for-news-cycle myths – are being used not to have an honest dialogue about why things like this happen, but to take racial polarization in the USA – already an awful situation – to a far more intense level. Maybe to a level we have not seen in decades.
I congratulate every person referenced above for their efforts in accomplishing the further polarization of the USA. You are well on your way to “success”.
And I especially congratulate President Obama – along with his hand-picked toady of an Attorney General, eric holder, who is promising to keep investigating even after the grand jury\’s decision (presumably until he gets a result he likes) – for their extraordinary efforts in this regard.
No one can say they aren\’t working hard to accomplish something.
