Yesterday, Joe Biden gave a commencement address to the graduating class of historically Black Morehouse College.
Never one to miss a pandering opportunity, Mr. Biden outdid himself there.

On Sunday at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Joe Biden gave a campaign speech that was masquerading as a commencement address.
It was littered with identity politics, black trauma narratives, and an emphasis on how our existence is determined by how much struggle we must endure.
“The pandemic robbed you of so much. Some of you lost loved ones — mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, who were — aren’t able to be here to celebrate with you today — today. You missed your high school graduation. You started college just as George Floyd was murdered and there was a reckoning on race,” Biden lamented.
He continued, “It’s natural to wonder if democracy you hear about actually works for you. What is democracy if black men are being killed in the street? What is democracy if a trail of broken promises still leave black — black communities behind? What is democracy if you have to be 10 times better than anyone else to get a fair shot?
“And most of all, what does it mean, as we’ve heard before, to be a black man who loves his country even if it doesn’t love him back in equal measure?,” he said, followed by a lackluster applause.
There you have it. quintessential Joe Biden. Get in front of a particular audience and deal out pander after pander, all of them supposed to isolate and stereotype that audience.
Since this happens to be a Black audience…
-Tell ’em that they are oppressed and democracy doesn’t work for them…
-Tell ’em that they have to be “10 times better than anyone else to get a fair shot” – in other words, if they ever fail at anything it’s not their fault, it’s “democracy”…
-Tell ’em, effectively, that they’re suckers if they love democracy since it doesn’t love them back.
What does Biden think this is going to get him? A bunch of college educated men (Morehouse is male-only) excited to vote for him because he “understands” that, the college education they just worked hard for and attained notwithstanding, their lives are hopeless? That the educators they have learned from at Morehouse, the doctors, lawyers, businessmen, etc. their alma mater has put into the world, count for absolutely nothing?
Are they supposed to support Biden because he tells them they wasted their time, and tuition money, getting those college degrees? That their lives, their futures, are straight down the crapper, because Joe ““If you have a problem figuring out whether you are for me or Trump, then you ain’t Black.” Biden told them so? That, in the United States, they’ll never be seen as anything but Black losers?
If there is a way this could be more disgusting, I can’t come up with it. But, to Joe Biden – to his puppeteers, that is – it is some kind of a relevant, compelling selling message.
It makes me – and, I have no doubt, a great many of the Morehouse graduates and their families – sick.
