MAKING AN ENEMY OF A FRIEND

The infantile side of Donald Trump is in full view again.

Jeff Sessions, then a U.S. Senator, was one of his earliest supporters.  He stood up for Mr. Trump when few others would give him the time of day.

Once Trump, as President, appointed Mr. Sessions Attorney General, and didn’t like his performance (as it related to Trump, of course)?  Now he’s badmouthing him in tweets.

In TWEETS?

I understand if Donald Trump is unhappy that Jeff Sessions recused himself from the Russia/collusion farce.  And if that’s enough to put him in the doghouse, I understand that too.

But Mr. Sessions is an ally.  A friend.  And Trump, in his juvenile petulance, is treating him like a dog.

Yeah, Sessions will probably resign – which clearly is what Trump wants.  And whatever good will existed between them will probably wind up being non-existent – maybe it already is there – which Trump apparently does not care about.

What we are seeing is the worst of Donald Trump.  And that, sad to say, is a very large part of the total.

It’s probably too late for this advice, but I’ll give it to President Trump anyway:  if you have something to say to Jeff Sessions, then MAN UP and SAY it.  To HIS FACE.

I understand why you use twitter to circumvent the mainstream media which hate you.  But Attorney General Sessions is not one of them.  He’s one of YOUR guys.

When you hide behind twitter to attack him, it makes you look like a 71 year old teenager in need of a maturity transplant…

…which, sad to say, may well be what you are.
