MAD, ANGRY AT WHO?

Ken Berwitz

A major politician, one who might wind up winning the presidency, is angry.  Very angry:

“I\’m mad, I\’m angry,” (the politician) thundered, attacking the U.S. economy as “devastating for workers.”

“Let me tell you something, man,” (the politician) said. “The tax code\’s not fair. The wealthy aren\’t paying their fair share.”

“Today 1 percent of Americans owns 40 percent of all wealth in America,” the (politician) said. “A level playing field doesn\’t exist.”

“It\’s the way the tax code has been setup,” (the politician) charged.

Who could that be?  Obviously someone who is positioning him/herself as exceedingly unhappy with the performance of the Obama administration, but clearly not a conservative Republican.  Could it be Hillary Clinton?  Bernie Sanders?  Martin O\’Malley?  Maybe even Donald Trump (who might say anything about anyone at any time)?

Uh, actually, no.  It isn\’t any of those folks.

Those words, spoken yesterday during a Labor Day event in Pittsburgh, PA, came from – are you sitting down? – Joe Biden.

That\’s right.  Joe Biden.  As in Vice President Joe Biden.  As in the second in command of the Obama administration for the past 6 1/2 years – two of which were with a 60% Democrat majority in both houses, so Mr. Obama and Mr. Biden could could pretty much pass any legislation, economic or otherwise, they cared to.

Does Joe Biden think the economy has nothing to do with who is running the country?  Does he think what happened since January 20, 2009 is some kind of out-of-body experience for Mr. Obama and him?

Can you imagine what the media would do with that comment if it had been made by Dick Cheney while he was still Vice President in the Bush administration?

One other thing:  have you seen/heard about Biden\’s comment in other venues, or is this blog – this tiny little blog compared to mainstream media – the first time?  I\’m betting it\’s the first time.

I talk a lot about Joe Biden shooting from the hip in here, and a lot about media bias which favors Democrats.

On both issues, I rest my case.
