KEITH ELLISON & DEMOCRATS’ “CONCERN” FOR FEMALE VICTIMS

The most powerful part of Lindsey Graham’s epic – and 100% deserved – take-down of Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee, I think, was when he pointed out that they did not give a damn about christine blasey ford as a victim, only as a political pawn they could use to their advantage.  His exact words:

“You (Democrats) had no intention of protecting Dr. Ford.  None!  She’s as much of a victim as you (Kavanaugh) are.”

Is this fair?

Well, one way of assessing it is to look at how Democrats are treating women who come forth with claims of sexual harassment against people in their own party.

This leads us straight to keith ellison, whom two women are accusing of sexual and physical abuse – with specific details , including contemporaneous written evidence.

Please read this excerpt about one one of them, from Lukas Mikelionis’s article at Fox News (where else would you expect to see it?  The networks?  MSNBC or CNN?) and draw your own conclusions:

Karen Monahan, a former girlfriend, came forward last month alleging that Ellison sent her threatening text messages and once screamed obscenities at her as he dragged her off a bed by her feet.

Ellison has denied the accusations, saying he “never behaved this way.” He did acknowledge he was in a relationship with the woman.

The allegations didn’t lead to any immediate action against the congressman, except for the announcement that the Democratic National Committee (DNC) would review the accusations. He went on to win the Democratic primary election for Minnesota attorney general.

“No, they don’t,” Monahan tweeted in response to a question whether the party believes women’s stories. “I’ve been smeared, threatened, isolated from my own party. I provided medical records from 2017, stating on two different Dr. Visits, I told them about the abuse and who did it. My therapist released records stating I have been dealing and healing from the abuse.”

These are real charges.  Evidenced charges.  But despite the fact that, unlike ford, Ms. Monahan has actual specifics and actual evidence, instead of Democrats offering sympathy and commiseration they are crapping on her.

Let’s remember that keith ellison is not some obscure congressperson.  He is the Deputy Chairperson of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and is currently running to become Attorney General of Minnesota.

But can you name even one Democrat you have heard demanding that ellison explain himself?  Even one who has spoken out on behalf of Karen Monahan as a victim?

And can you name any national media venue – e.g. any of the network news shows – making anything at all of this?

Nope.  There’s a problem.

See, keith ellison is a Democrat.  So following through on this as a news story, and demanding an investigation of the abuse Karen Monahan claims to have suffered at his hands is not going to happen.

Instead, the only “investigation” is some vague claim that the DNC – where ellison himself is second in command – will be looking into this.

In other words, Ms. Monahan’s claims have been flushed straight down the crapper.

What does this tell us about the Democrat Party, and about our media?

It tells us that, if we’re talking about women making claims of abuse, politics is the superseding factor – with Republicans likely to quickly be put on the chopping block and Democrats likely to be given as much of a free pass as possible.

And before anyone points out that, also in Minnesota, Democrats called for Senator Al Franken to resign over sexual misbehavior, let me remind you that the Governor of Minnesota, Mark Dayton, who appointed his replacement, is a Democrat, so Franken’s departure kept that seat in the party’s hands; it cost them nothing.  By contrast, if ellison is damaged goods, Democrats might well lose Minnesota’s Attorney General race.

I repeat.  Politics is the superseding factor here.

And the stench of hypocrisy – i.e. the lack of concern about a women who claims to have been physically and mentally abused, because the abuser had aa”D” next to his name – is almost unbearable.
