KAMALA HARRIS’S GREATEST “ACCOMPLISHMENT” AS VICE PRESIDENT: STAFF TURNOVER

Assuming Kamala Harris is the Democrat nominee for President (that is NOT a fait accompli yet, even if Democrat kingmakers (queenmakers?) and much of our media have anointed her).

But if she is, one of the most obvious issues for voters is what her accomplishments as Vice President have been.

Until now, I’ve had trouble finding any.  Her one major responsibility – being our “border Czar” could not have been a greater failure, and she’s been asked to do little else.

But now I’ve found one.  It is….

…..staff turnover.

Kamala Harris may well have set an all-time record for staff members fleeing a Vice President’s office.

Excerpted from Adam Anderzejewski’s article for openthebooks.substack.com – and please pay particular attention to the paragraphs I’ve put in bold print:

Under Kamala Harris, the Office of the Vice President has been called a “revolving door,” a “staff exodus” of key aides “heading for the exits.”

That’s not hyperbole from the national media.

Our auditors at OpenTheBooks quantified an extraordinarily high 91.5-percent staff turnover rate. We used U.S. Senate disclosures to conduct our investigation and those databases can be downloaded below.

Elected in November 2020, Harris took the oath of office in January 2021.

As of March 31, 2024, only four of the initial 47 staffers from the first year are still employed – consistently and without interruption – by the Vice President.

Furthermore, the turnover chaos isn’t getting better. In the trailing 12-month period, 24 staffers left — that’s almost half the employees.

Wow.  That is a stunning rate of turnover.

And if you read further in the article (which I strongly recommend that you do), you’ll find that Harris not only has tried to hide this singularly ugly flee-the-office deluge, but has a lot to answer for when it comes to staff funding as well.

Is this really the person we want in charge of our country?  Is there any possible way that Democrats or anyone else can rationalize her as someone who will unite the country?  Bring people together?  She can’t even keep her own staff together.

What an awful choice this is – assuming she actually makes it through what is going to be one three ring circus of a national convention/assuming there isn’t a wild-west quality battle royal there.

From a “what’s good for the country” standpoint, I am appalled by what is likely to happen.

From an entertainment standpoint, however, I can’t wait.
