John Hawkins is a hard-right commentator. We disagree on a lot of things…including some of the reasoning incorporated into his latest article at townhall.com, titled “7 Things Liberals REALLY MEAN When They Cry “Racism”. But I agree with enough of it to post the link, and to give you an idea of some of its more salient content below:
1)You disagree with me:…groups that oppose them must be “racist” by default.
2)I need more attention and/or money: There are an awful lot ofpeople in the Democrat Party who make a living calling people”racist.” Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Melissa Harris-Perry,Toure, Joy Reid, Eric Dyson, the NAACP, Tavis Smiley, Cornell (sic) Westand Ben Jealous rely on finding new and intriguing ways to accusepeople of bigotry to fill their pockets and get in front of cameras.
3)Let’s take a choice away from black Americans: …liberals havefalsely convinced black Americans that Republicans hate them. Thatmeans no matter how bad it gets, Republicans can\’t even be consideredas an option. This is how Democrats have managed to utterly destroycities like Detroit without the populace even considering theRepublican Party as an option.
4)You are disagreeing with a minority: …one of the many ways theytry to get people off track is to accuse any white person arguingwith a minority of being racist. .
5)Your attack is damaging us:When Republicans hit Democrats with any kind of damaging attack, itis inevitably called “racist.”
6)You won\’t do what I want!: Liberals who get theirfeelings hurt tend to respond by classifying the people who\’veegregiously offended them – by say, wearing a Redskins jersey, supporting lower taxes, or not voting for Obama — as horrible humanbeings. …ifHillary Clinton were running for President, liberals would bescreaming about sexism all the time. However, since Obama is ruiningthe country at the moment, calling someone a “racist” istheir preferred way of whining that people won\’t do what they want.
7)Stop trying to do outreach to black Americans:Democrats believe they own black Americans. That\’s why they hateblack Americans who don\’t buy into that or white Republicans who wantto do outreach. So, if a black Republican challenges the idea thatblack Americans are all helpless victims of racism who need crumbsfrom Democrats to survive, he\’ll be racially insulted.
Is John Hawkins onto something? On something? Or something else?
Me? while I disagree with a lot of what he says – including use of the word “liberal” to describe these people (many of those who think themselves liberal are, in practice, anything but), I feel he makes points that are necessary, even imperative, for people to consider. Especially Black people, who are the targets, therefore victims, of what he is talking about.
That said, the floor is now yours. Decide for yourself.
