JOE BIDEN’S BELATED TRIP TO EAST PALESTINE, OHIO – AND, NOW, MAUI

On February 3, a Norfolk Southern train derailed resulting in an explosion and fire of hazardous chemicals in East Palestine.  It caused major environmental havoc there, and disrupted/endangered the inhabitants of that city and surrounding areas.

Joe Biden said – belatedly – that he would visit East Palestine.  But, over a half year later, he has yet do do so.

However, yesterday he did fly over the town on his way to Milwaukee, where he made a speech claiming that his “Bidenomics” is a great success. (Do you think it is?  Do you think inflation and the overall cost of living has improved?  Have you checked food prices or mortgage rates recently?)

On August 8 – over a week ago – a fire decimated  Lahaina town on the Island of Maui, Hawaii.  So far there are 106 confirmed dead, with the total sure to rise substantially.

Until yesterday, Joe Biden’s entire commentary, when asked about the horror in Maui was to smile, wave, and say “No comment”.

The ensuing public relations disaster – and only the ensuing public relations disaster – has caused Biden to come out and say he and Jill will go there next week.  His excuse for not doing so sooner, lame though it was?  He didn’t want “to get in the way”.

I think it would be fair to say that he is beyond getting in the way for East Palestine, but no word on when, if ever, he will show up there.

Did I mention that East Palestine votes strongly Republican?  Think that has anything to do with it?

Make of the above what you will.
