IRAN AND HEZBOLLAH: NO LONGER TERRORISTS?

I wish I were making this up.  But I’m not:

From the Times Of Israel (and numerous other sources):

An annual report delivered recently to the US Senate by James Clapper, the director of National Intelligence, removed Iran and Hezbollah from its list of terrorism threats, after years in which they featured in similar reports.

The unclassified version of the Worldwide Threat Assessment of the US Intelligence Communities, dated February 26, 2015 (PDF), noted Iran’s efforts to combat Sunni extremists, including those of the ultra-radical Islamic State group, who were perceived to constitute the preeminent terrorist threat to American interests worldwide.

In describing Iran’s regional role, the report noted the Islamic Republic’s “intentions to dampen sectarianism, build responsive partners, and deescalate tensions with Saudi Arabia” ….

This borders on insanity.

Iran still ends meetings by chanting “Death To America”. Iran still is on record as intending to “wipe Israel off the face of the map”.  Iran is still exporting terrorism around the world.  By what stretch of logic is this no longer a terrorist entity?

And what, exactly, has hezbollah, funded by Iran, done to be removed from the terrorist list?  Are its objectives – the eradication of Israel primary among them – different now than they were last year, or the year before, or the year before that?

Haven’t the Obama administration’s unbroken string of foreign policy disasters damaged the USA, Israel and western civilization in general enough?  Must it do this as well?

We still have almost two years of Barack Obama left.  Is there any way of moving time forward?
